Sandro Castro, grandson of Fidel Castro and a well-known entertainment businessman in Havana, sparked controversy again on social media with a story posted on his Instagram account, where he openly mocked the Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel.

In the image, there is a cake decorated with the influencer's logo, accompanied by a bottle of the popular drink Cristal. In response to a follower's question —“What do you think of Diasca, the lemonade?”—, Sandro wrote: “I prefer to drink Cristachhh, not lemonade”, sarcastically referring to Díaz-Canel's famous phrase: “Lemonade is the foundation of everything”.

The comment was interpreted by many as a direct mockery of Díaz-Canel and reignites the debate about the privileges of the families in power.

The young man prides himself on being able to express himself openly on social media because he knows there will be no legal repercussions, fines, or imprisonment — unlike independent journalists and human rights activists in Cuba, who face such consequences when they expose the reality of life in the country.
