The Cuban reggaeton artist Luis Alberto Vicet Vives, known artistically as La Crema, celebrated his departure from Cuba with a new song titled "Navidad en libertad," true to his humorous style and filled with references to everyday life on the island.

From Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, where he recorded the video, the artist expresses his joy at spending Christmas festivities abroad for the first time, enjoying the abundance in supermarkets, running water, and electricity—luxuries that were unimaginable for him in Cuba.

In the comments of the video, La Crema confirmed that he plans to stay living in the Dominican Republic and has no intention of returning to the island. He also expressed gratitude for the supportive messages from his followers and mentioned in the song that he feels thankful for the ability to live freely.

The reggaeton artist had changed his location on social media to Santo Domingo since December 15, which already raised suspicions that he had left the country.

In his song, the artist ironically reflects on the hardships he faced in Cuba and the differences he has found in his new life.

This Christmas, I stepped out of the darkness and came to Punta Cana to celebrate my freedom. In this city, I find happiness; the power never goes out, and there's plenty of food. Everything is affordable here, there's beef, and even tangerines, apples, pears, and fish, which I haven't seen in a long time. I can have my own pool. There's always water in my kitchen, while in Cuba, I had to fetch water in the early morning. This Christmas, I will live in peace. I left behind power outages, mosquito nets, and dirt. Goodbye, chikungunya. In this city, I have the opportunity to lead a dignified life and breathe the air of freedom, says the song.

With this new song, La Crema joins the list of Cuban artists who have decided to emigrate in search of better opportunities and an environment of personal and artistic freedom.
