The former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro arrived this Saturday handcuffed at the offices of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in New York, after being transported by U.S. forces from Stewart Air Force Base in New York State.
A video shared by Faytuks Network shows the moment Maduro descends from the Delta Airlines plane, wearing a long-sleeve blue hoodie, black pants, white socks, and rubber sandals.
The former president walks handcuffed, with his hands in front, and is escorted by a large group of American officials. "I’m famous, famous. All these people know that…," he can be heard saying in the video.
In a second scene, a caravan of vehicles can be seen escorting an armored military truck, in which Maduro was traveling. Subsequently, the images show the Chavista leader stepping out of the vehicle, limping, dressed in a black coat and a matching hat.
"Hello, Happy New Year. I am hurt," he says as the agents lead him toward the federal building.
Finally, a fourth video shows Maduro walking through the halls of the DEA headquarters in New York, still in handcuffs and wearing the same dark outfit, repeating "Happy New Year" in English to the officers who greet him.
The leader of the Venezuelan regime is easily recognizable in all the footage of this series of videos.
Maduro was captured on January 3 by a Delta Force team, during an operation ordered by President Donald Trump.
His arrest marks a turning point in relations between the United States and Venezuela, and could lead to a historic judicial process for drug trafficking and human rights violations.
