Delcy Rodríguez pledges loyalty to Maduro and promises "not to rest until he is back."

"They have my commitment and loyalty that we will not rest for a single minute until we bring back President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant, Cilia Flores. We will rescue them with the unity of our people," said Delcy Rodríguez at an event in Caracas.

Amid a profound political and diplomatic crisis following the capture of former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife, interim president Delcy Rodríguez pledged allegiance and commitment to their return this Saturday, while exploring a rapprochement with the United States in a strategic shift aimed at preventing further isolation of the country.

"They have my commitment and loyalty that we will not rest for a single minute until we have President Nicolás Maduro and the first combatant, Cilia Flores, back. We will rescue them with the unity of our people," he said at an event in Caracas.

This commitment is combined with a new diplomatic stance of the chavista leader, who has sought to reconfigure relationships with Washington following the international impact of American intervention.

Rodríguez has publicly extended invitations to the United States to work on a "cooperation agenda" aimed at progressing towards balanced, respectful bilateral relations focused on shared development, within the framework of international law.

The call for cooperation with the U.S. government comes amid a volatile context: the capture of Maduro and Cilia Flores has forced the regime to reorganize and redefine its international strategy, while the country and the region closely observe the potential consequences of the new U.S. presence in the nation.

Analysts suggest that this apparent diplomatic shift reflects a pragmatic effort to maintain internal stability in the country and safeguard its economic interests—especially in oil—without publicly abandoning the discourse of sovereignty and resistance that characterizes Chavismo.

Trump has even said that Rodríguez "seems to be an ally."
