The President of the United States, Donald Trump, expressed his gratitude this Friday for the gesture from the state of Florida following the official inauguration of “President Donald J. Trump Boulevard”, the road that connects Palm Beach International Airport with his private residence at Mar-a-Lago.

“I am tremendously honored that the main road from the airport to the beautiful Mar-a-Lago bears my name. I love the people of Florida and I will remember this incredible gesture for the rest of my life,” the leader expressed in a message shared on his official X account (formerly Twitter).

The inauguration ceremony featured the participation of state representative Meg Weinberger, advocate of the law passed by the Florida House of Representatives that authorized the name change.

President Donald J. Trump Boulevard stands as a permanent reminder of courage, leadership, and unapologetic patriotism,” stated the legislator during the event.

The new boulevard includes the main stretch that connects Palm Beach International Airport with the Mar-a-Lago complex, the residence and political headquarters of the president.

Local authorities reported that the official signage was installed this week amidst extensive media coverage.

The Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, signed the decree affirming the name change last December, emphasizing the “profound economic and political impact” that Trump has left on the state.

Since his return to the presidency in January 2025, Florida has established itself as a key political center of his administration and the main base of his Republican movement.

The state of Florida has become a political stronghold for Trump, who enjoys high levels of support in Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and other areas of South Florida with a significant presence of Hispanic voters, including thousands of Cuban-Americans.

The most recent polls place his popularity in the state above 65%.

"Florida has always been the heart of the American spirit: hard work, freedom, and love for our country. I am very proud to call it my home," Trump stated during the ceremony, where he was accompanied by members of his cabinet and local officials.
