The Cuban reggaeton artist Yomil Hidalgo has set his sights back on Miami, the city where he experienced one of the most memorable moments of his career alongside El Dany, and to which he has been unable to return for nearly a decade. "Oh, Miami, let me catch you", he wrote on Instagram after delivering a crowded concert, a phrase that has sparked rumors of a possible reunion with his fans in the United States.

The message, posted after what he described as "an incredible event," was read by thousands of followers as a sign that the performer is still determined to fulfill his dream of returning to the American stages. “Yesterday was just a taste of what’s to come,” Yomil hinted, expressing his gratitude to the promoter PMM for bringing back "the old days" of great performances in Cuba.

In recent years, the artist has faced several obstacles in traveling to the United States. In 2024, he revealed that the U.S. embassy in Havana had denied him a visa for the third time, publicly accusing host Alexander Otaola of having influenced that decision. Nevertheless, Yomil has insisted that he does not intend to give up: “God's timing is perfect,” he wrote at that time.

Now, with his return to the major Cuban stages and the growing support from his followers, the reggaeton artist seems ready to resume the plan he has pursued for years: to step back onto a stage in Miami, where in 2017 he filled the Watsco Center alongside his late partner. "We're waiting for you here, Yomil," commented dozens of fans, convinced that his return is just a matter of time.

The public, both on and off the island, agrees on one thing: Yomil continues to be one of the most prominent artists in the Cuban urban genre. “More Yuma than the Yuma,” “Cuba feels small for you,” and “Hopefully you make it to Miami so they can feel the pressure,” were some of the reactions that accompanied his latest release. In the meantime, the artist retains his faith and energy: the American dream remains alive, and Miami, it seems, is also waiting for him.
