The excitement for Aída is reigniting and now crosses the Atlantic. Miami will host a special premiere in the United States of the film Aída y Vuelta on February 5 at noon, directed by Paco León and featuring the original cast of the series that marked an entire generation of viewers, including thousands of Cubans.
The event will be held at Cinépolis, featuring the presence of Paco León (Luisma), Carmen Machi (Aída), and Canco Rodríguez (Barajas), who will engage with the audience attending the screening.
Tickets, as confirmed by the organizers on Instagram, sold out quickly, despite the show taking place during working hours. Fortunately for fans, more dates are scheduled in Florida and other cities.
The highly anticipated film blends fiction and reality by showcasing the filming of a special episode of the series, where characters and actors intermingle to explore themes of humor, fame, and the passage of time.
The film has been in theaters since January 30, with screenings in Spain and other European cities, before its arrival in Latin America and the United States.
The phenomenon of Aída left an indelible mark on Cuba. The Spanish comedy became one of the most-watched shows on the island thanks to its situational humor, its portrayal of local neighborhoods, and beloved characters like Luisma and Fidel Martínez, played by Eduardo Casanova.
In an interview about the film, Casanova revealed that his return to the role in Aída y Vuelta was, in part, a tribute to the Cuban audience: “The two reasons why I’m making this film are the fans, especially those from Cuba, and my brother Paco. The Cuban fans have given me everything,” the actor declared.
The networks were filled with messages of affection from Cuban fans: “The only Fidel that Cubans love”; “How nice that you do this for those in Cuba”; “Cuba will always be the first and most loyal.”
Aída y Vuelta also features Mariano Peña, Pepe Viyuela, Miren Ibarguren, Melani Olivares, Marisol Ayuso, and David Castillo in its cast. The film is a celebration of nostalgia, humor, and friendship that made Aída an unforgettable series, both in Spain and Cuba.
