A video of a marriage proposal filmed in Cuba has sparked a flurry of comments on TikTok, where thousands of users are reacting with irony, sarcasm, and personal experiences in response to the story of a couple with a significant age difference.

The recording, shared by the couple's account @amorsinedad.oficial, shows the moment when an older Cuban man, residing in the United States, proposes to a young Cuban woman in what appears to be a simple family setting.

He, visibly emotional, kneels down and hands her the ring; she accepts it with a smile and later assures in the comments of the video that he is the "love of her life."

The romantic gesture, far from being just a simple love story, sparked an intense debate in the comments, where many users drew parallels with a recurring pattern on the Island: relationships between foreigners or emigrants and young Cuban women, characterized by very different expectations.

Reactions quickly began to multiply, and the video filled with phrases that mix humor, skepticism, and personal experience. Some of the most frequently repeated comments were:

"This series is just getting started. Let me bring it on!". "Three nachos later...". "Exactly, he doesn’t even know what he did". "You all are criticizing while she’s cashing in". "We'll see when it gets here" or "Brother, if you take her to Yuma, the romance is over".

Other users were more personal and shared that they had experienced similar situations: “Holy God, how many times did I play that same role every time I went to Cuba,” one wrote with laughter.

The video brings back to the forefront a recurring topic on social media: the romantic relationships that emerge in Cuba between young women and older men who live abroad, often surrounded by prejudices, stereotypes, and public judgments.

While some defend the couple's right to live their story without criticism, others assert that the real conflict arises when the relationship moves beyond the Cuban context and faces the realities of life in the United States.

For now, the story is just beginning, but on TikTok, many are already claiming to be ready for the "next chapter."
