Hello, CiberCuba News!

I am Cuban, I live in Cuba, surviving day by day, and I have an immense desire for this to end, for the people to gain courage and take to the streets, to see if there is a change, to see if there is a chance for some relief.

I am Cuban and, of course, I do not appreciate "free education and healthcare." An education based on indoctrination, instilling in us communist ideas, fear and hatred towards the outside world, and an unsustainable love and loyalty towards mercenary and murderous leaders.

A barely basic education. I do not appreciate that children have to go to school hungry, or that university students need to "find a sugar" to avoid starving while on a scholarship.

And I certainly don’t appreciate having to go to a hospital under such dire conditions, where nothing is free, where you have to give 'gifts' to the doctors to get help, where there are no medicines or cleanliness, and where parents have been sleeping in the hallways for months just to get their children treated.

No, not at all, I don't appreciate that, neither the supply booklet, nor the reorganization, nor the campaign for ideas, nor any 'progress' they want to sell us.

But do you know what I do appreciate? Those people who raise their voices, both those inside and those outside, because they are Cuban and Cuba hurts them; because they had to flee from this disgusting regime, because they have family here, for whatever reason.

And every time I read a comment from a ciberclaria saying, "Come over here, you fight; it's very comfortable to give opinions from there," well, I really appreciate that you, from your comfort, raise your voice and want a free Cuba, and advocate for our rights. Because the Castros and their entire leadership, also from their comfort, keep us in complete misery.

I was going to write a short paragraph, but there is so much pain and helplessness… It’s witnessing, day after day, mothers suffering because their children are hungry, fathers trying to figure things out, but where do they get the money? From thin air? Because the sewer rats come to tell them to get to work. Work at what? Here, one works and still resolves nothing. Here, girls as young as 12 are already hoping to find a foreigner to get by.

"And well, here we are all tired of this, and many of us want a change. I know I speak for many when I ask for freedom. And I hope, God, I hope that one of these days people get fed up and take to the streets, because I am more than sure that there are many of us who will join."
