The actor and comedian Andy Vázquez set social media ablaze once again with a response filled with irony and sarcasm directed at the national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), Gerardo Hernández Nordelo.
The former spy of the failed Avispa Network had publicly insulted him days earlier by calling him “a toady, opportunist, and sycophant” following a viral joke by Andy about a “new Cuban national currency” featuring the image of Donald Trump.
The comedian, known for his role as Facundo Correcto in the popular show 'Vivir del Cuento', responded in the same language he was subjected to, but used humor as a tool for defense and denunciation.
On Instagram, Vázquez posted a video in which he is literally “crawling” on the ground before getting into his 2024 Chevrolet Camaro, saying with a laugh:
"I may be a pushover, but look at my ride, I pay for it myself. 2024 Camaro... Chevrolet... a thousand dollars a month. I don't have to kiss anyone's ass to get into that junk you’re driving."
The video, accompanied by the phrase "I'm a loser...", went viral within a matter of hours, garnering thousands of reactions and supportive comments.
On Facebook, the actor asked the oppressor: “What happened, cederista?” and shared another clip in which, without mincing words, he raised the tone of his response: “I’d rather be opportunistic, shameless, and servile than have to be raising a daughter for the bodyguard they left watching over your wife… you fool!”
With his publications, Andy turned the insults from an official into raw material for his comedy, transforming political disparagement into collective laughter. His response, as direct as it is clever, once again demonstrates that humor remains the most effective trench against intolerance and power.
