A brief video posted on TikTok by user Dayana (@dayana9101guevara) has resonated with many Cubans both on and off the island. With a powerful phrase superimposed on the screen —“I will never again be the one with the black bags”— the young woman shared a very symbolic moment after moving to a new home in the United States.

The images show how he leaves behind several black garbage bags that, for many migrants, represent a period of instability: constant moves, rented rooms, and belongings stored temporarily. It then displays the keys to his empty new apartment, signifying the beginning of a different stage.

The video, accompanied by tags such as #cubanosporelmundo, #separacion, and #superacion, generated dozens of supportive reactions. "I believe every Cuban has once been the one with the backpack and black bags,” commented a user, to which Dayana responded with a brief but affirmative "Yes."

Another follower wrote: “That was my motto when I bought my house: I'm not packing my things in black bags, no one is throwing me out”. The comment summarizes the feeling shared by many Cuban emigrants who, after years of sacrifice, achieve stability in a new country.

More than a simple move, the video has become a symbol of personal growth and the determination of those rebuilding their lives far from Cuba, initially carrying their belongings in makeshift bags until they achieve a space of their own.

For many users, it's not just about objects, but about dignity, security, and the peace of mind knowing that they no longer have to rush to pick up the pieces of their lives.
