Images shared on social media following the fire that occurred on the night of February 16 in San Germán, Urbano Noris municipality, depict a scene of total destruction: three homes completely reduced to ashes, collapsed structures, and barely any charred remnants still standing.
Where wooden houses used to stand near Las Américas Park, there are now only blackened walls, collapsed roofs, and piles of smoldering rubble.
The photographs taken after the fire was extinguished reveal beams charred by the flames, melted appliances, and belongings reduced to ash.
In some images, the interior of the homes during the fire is visible, which reached disproportionate dimensions due to the delay of the fire department, located two blocks away, reported local residents.
The fire left no usable structures: the three houses were erased from the urban landscape.
The incident, which according to testimonies began around 8:47 p.m., did not result in any loss of human life, but it caused significant material damage for the affected families.
Neighbors have reported on social media that when the firefighters - two blocks away from the incident - arrived at the scene, the houses had already been almost entirely consumed.
So far, provincial authorities have not officially specified the causes of the fire nor detailed the concrete support measures for those affected. Meanwhile, images of destruction circulate as a testament to the impact of the blaze and the vulnerability of many homes in the country.
