Tense moments were experienced this Monday at Miami International Airport when a car caught fire in the arrivals area, a zone that sees thousands of travelers daily, including many Cubans entering and leaving the country.

The images of the incident, which quickly circulated on social media, show how the fire engulfed the front of a parked vehicle while a dense column of smoke rose in the Arrivals area.

The video was initially shared on Facebook by the user John Sang, who alerted those heading to the airport: “A car is burning right now at Miami International Airport, in the Arriving area. So if you’re coming to Miami airport, be careful.”

The Miami-Dade County Fire Department responded to the scene and was able to extinguish the fire, reported later by Telemundo 51.

According to official data, it was a vehicle fire that occurred in one of the airport's parking lots, specifically on the arrivals level. No injuries were reported, but the incident significantly affected traffic flow.

The airport administration issued a traffic alert and confirmed that, due to smoke and debris in the area, several access points were temporarily redirected. In a message posted on its official account on X, the airport reported that the situation required redirecting vehicles attempting to enter the terminal.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office also intervened and urged travelers to plan their arrival in advance, as well as drivers to seek alternate routes while traffic normalized.
