The Republican congresswoman from Florida, María Elvira Salazar, stated that the Cuban regime "has nothing more to offer than repression," while expressing her support for the pressure policy promoted by President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

In a message posted on his official account on the social network X, Salazar described the situation on the island as critical: "There is no food. There is no water. There is no electricity. There are no medicines. And now, there is no fear either," he wrote.

The legislator stated that we are experiencing a “historic moment” and assured that the United States stands “with the Cuban people while demanding freedom.” “Cuba will be free,” she added.

Salazar suggested that the regime faces two paths: to continue the repression or to allow Cubans to "breathe the oxygen of freedom." In his opinion, the first option would come to an early end due to a lack of resources. “They have no water, no gasoline, no energy, and the people are not afraid,” he pointed out.

The congresswoman expressed confidence that the Trump administration will act in favor of the island's citizens. “Trump and Marco Rubio will do the right thing, which is to free Cubans from oppression,” she stated.

Salazar's statements come in a context of increasing pressure from Washington on Havana, marked by additional sanctions and public warnings directed at the regime, as the economic and energy crisis continues to deepen in Cuba.
