A Cuban resident in Lehigh Acres shared on TikTok the dramatic moment she is experiencing with her family after losing their home in a fire that reduced it to ashes in just a few minutes.

"Everything we were accustomed to is gone... now we have to start over," wrote the young woman in the description of the video, where she shows the ruins of the home completely destroyed by fire.

In the message accompanying the images, he explained that he decided to make what happened public not to "elicit pity," but to inform close friends who were still unaware of the tragedy.

"Our lives changed in a matter of minutes. A fire destroyed our home. We lost absolutely everything: the memories, the years of hard work, and the place where we felt safe. In an instant, we were left with nothing, everything reduced to ashes," he recounted.

One of the most distressing moments was the disappearance of their cat, which was inside the house when the fire started. For four days, they had no news of the animal.

"There were days of great anguish, searching for her, calling her, and with a broken heart. There were days of shock, tears, uncertainty, extremely difficult and emotionally draining," he/she shared.

Finally, the pet appeared alive, which was a relief amidst the tragedy. "We are alive, we are together, and that is the only thing that the fire couldn't touch," he expressed.

The young woman also expressed her gratitude for the support received from friends, acquaintances, and compassionate individuals who have extended their hand during this difficult time. As she explained, they created a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will allow them to start anew.

“It’s not easy to ask for help. I never imagined I would be in this position, but today I understood that accepting help is also an act of courage,” she stated, while inviting those who wish to contribute to donate or share her story.

"We are not seeking compassion; we are seeking reconstruction and to rise again. This is not the end of our story; it is the beginning of an even stronger, more conscious, and more grateful version of who we are," he concluded while showing his house completely reduced to ashes.
