A video circulating on social media shows a group of Cubans throwing an impromptu party in the street to the rhythm of the song "Tienes Remix," in a scene that quickly went viral due to its energy and festive atmosphere.
In the images, seemingly recorded in a residential neighborhood on the island, several musicians are seen playing a drum set while dozens of people —including adults, youths, and children— surround the small makeshift stage. Many dance, sing, and raise their hands while others record the scene with their mobile phones.
The music and enthusiasm are contagious to those present, who join in the rhythm, creating a kind of spontaneous street concert. The celebratory atmosphere is reminiscent of traditional Cuban descargas, where music emerges spontaneously and ultimately brings the entire neighborhood together.
However, despite the positive energy conveyed by the video, numerous criticisms related to the situation in the country also emerged on social media.
Some users questioned how party scenes can go viral amid the economic crisis, blackouts, and shortages affecting a large part of the population.
Among the most frequently repeated comments are messages such as: “And then they wonder why no one helps us,” or “if Trump sees this, he’ll lose the desire to do anything for the people of Cuba.”
Other users, on the other hand, defended the moment, pointing out that despite the difficulties, Cubans often find in music and dance a way to escape for a few minutes from the harshness of everyday reality.
There were also those who expressed mixed feelings: “and here I am without sleep, thinking about what Trump will do,” wrote another internet user.
The video continues to accumulate views and comments, once again reflecting how seemingly simple scenes can open a wider debate about the reality on the island.
