The President of the United States, Donald Trump, recounted at the Americas Shield Summit in Miami that he has heard negative things about Cuba his entire life.

"For 50 years I have been hearing about Cuba. Since I was a young child, I have been hearing about Cuba. You know, Cuba is a disaster," he said in front of the 12 Latin American leaders present at the event.

Trump expressed his confidence that the future of the Island will change very soon.

"I have heard so much about Cuba for so many years. But Cuba is in its final moments as it has been. It will have a very significant new life, but it is in its final moments as it is now," he stated.

In his intervention at the Trump National Doral, Trump presented Cuba as a country on the brink of economic and political collapse.

He assured that "he is at the end of the road," without money or oil, attributing that situation to what he described as "a bad philosophy" and a "regime that has been bad for a long time."

He recalled that Cuba used to receive money and oil from Venezuela, but that support no longer exists. As an example of the crisis, he pointed out that there is no fuel for air operations on the Island.

"When they land in Cuba, they cannot get fuel to take off again. They have to leave their planes there," he said.

Finally, the Republican leader revealed that four heads of state at the Summit asked him to take charge of Cuba due to issues they have been experiencing with its government.

"I will take care of that, it's alright," he stated, adding that "an agreement with Cuba could be reached very easily."
