The electricity crisis in Cuba continues to generate public discontent, and during the night of this Tuesday, new pot banging and protests were reported in several municipalities of Havana, marking the fifth consecutive day of demonstrations related to the prolonged blackouts.
The journalist Mario Pentón reported through his social media that citizens' protests have been heard again in various parts of the capital, such as in Cerro and Marianao, where residents banged pots from their homes to express their displeasure over the lack of electricity.
According to the report, with the protest registered tonight, there are now at least four consecutive nights of demonstrations in different areas of Havana, all driven by the ongoing power outages affecting thousands of families.
In recent days, residents have reported long hours without electricity, a situation that is worsened by high temperatures, water shortages, and difficulties in preserving food.
Cacerolazos have become one of the most visible forms of citizen protest on the island, especially during times of energy crisis, and they reflect the growing social discontent over the deterioration of basic services.
So far, the Cuban authorities have not provided an official response regarding the new protests reported in the capital.
