Sandro Castro, grandson of Fidel Castro and known for his controversial videos on social media, stated that this weekend he will release a "statement so strong" that, according to him, "no one can afford to miss it."
The announcement appears in a video shared on Instagram, where he is seen arriving on a motorcycle down a street at night while talking to the person recording him. In the midst of the conversation, he explains why he had not posted earlier.
"Look, I couldn't even post this Sunday; due to the weather conditions, there was no light, no gas, nothing, you know what I mean," he comments sarcastically in the video.
He then hints that his next message will be particularly striking. “My post that will be released this weekend is a statement… but so powerful, so powerful, that no one can miss it, brother.”
When his interlocutor asks him if he has good news, he replies, "There is too much good news." And he adds, "I’m going to say everything there, my brother, everything.”
The video has sparked a wave of comments on Instagram, where many users reacted with irony, curiosity, or criticism. Some wrote that now "no one sleeps until Sunday," while others said the announcement left them "in suspense."
Skeptical comments about the actual content of the supposed statement also appeared. “If you come out with something foolish, you’re going to disappoint us,” wrote one user. Others speculated that the message could have political implications or joked that it was simply some announcement related to the bar.
Political comments were not absent, with references to the future of the country or to a hypothetical departure of the ruling elite from power. In several messages, there was even mention of the possibility that the announcement was linked to changes in Cuba or to contacts with the United States, although none of this is confirmed in the video.
Sandro Castro's posts often generate controversy because they combine humor, provocation, and ambiguous references to the political situation in the country.
In recent weeks, he shared several videos that have fueled similar speculations. In one of them, he joked about a supposed call from the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, which appeared on the screen of his phone while he was playing dominoes on a street in Havana. At that moment, he said, "Marquito, you're on fire this week, I'm not in the mood to talk to you."
In that same video, he once again used dominoes as a metaphor to comment on the political situation and stated, “The dominoes don’t get stuck, but they do heat up.”
He has also published messages loaded with double meanings amidst the country's energy crisis. In a recording where he appears next to a fuel canister he launched the phrase: “Let it all explode! And look, we are already on the verge of exploding.”
Beyond the political content, his posts often showcase scenes of celebration and leisure amidst the difficulties faced by the population. During a recent blackout in Havana, for example, he shared images playing dominoes, drinking beer, and preparing a barbecue on the street.
En otra ocasión comentó sobre la escasez de alimentos con una frase que también generó polémica: “Debe ser un dinosaurio herbívoro porque aquí no hay carne”.
This provocative style has contributed to each of his new videos generating a mix of anticipation, mockery, and rejection among social media users.
For now, the announcement of his "statement" does not include details about the content. The only certainty is that Sandro Castro himself decided to heighten the intrigue: he promised that the message will arrive this weekend and assured that it will be something "no one can miss."
