A crocodile surprised several boaters after appearing on the rear platform of a partially submerged ship in a marina in Miami, according to a video that has gone viral on social media.

The images shared on TikTok by user @capitan.alejandro show the reptile resting calmly on the back of the boat, which apparently sank during the early morning hours.

According to the testimony of the video’s author, the boat had been partially submerged since morning when the scene occurred. The crocodile is said to have taken advantage of the rising tide to climb onto the boat's platform.

When the water level receded, the animal was left on the upper structure of the vessel, creating the impression that it was trapped there.

“There has always been a myth that there are crocodiles in all the marinas of Miami,” comments the author of the video while showing the animal on the deck.

The images reflect a relatively common phenomenon in southern Florida, where alligators and crocodiles can be found in canals, marinas, and coastal areas close to their natural habitat.

Wildlife experts remind us that although these reptiles typically avoid humans, they can pose a danger if they are disturbed or if someone gets too close.

Therefore, authorities recommend always keeping a distance and respecting the space of these animals when they appear in urban or marine areas.
