A video shared on TikTok has moved many users by showing the moment a Cuban woman meets her brother for the first time in Nicaragua after 36 years. The scene was posted by content creator María Montenegro (@mariamontenegrofficial), who recently left Cuba and arrived in that country, where she was finally able to meet him.

In the clip, you can see the moment when they embrace tightly, a simple gesture but full of emotion after a lifetime of not knowing each other. Above the video, María wrote a message that captures what that moment meant to her: “I am Cuban and Nicaraguan, and today I met my brother and for the first time I see him after 36 years”.

The creator explained that the meeting happened after arriving in Nicaragua, where her brother lives. “After 36 years, I meet my Nicaraguan brother,” she wrote along with a heart emoji in the video description.

The post quickly began to fill with reactions. Many users responded with tears, heart emojis, and messages of blessings, clearly moved by the embrace between the two brothers.

Among the comments, there were also reflections on similar family stories between Cuba and Nicaragua, something that deeply affected many people in past decades. One user recalled that in the 1980s, several families were separated between the two countries, and many children grew up without ever meeting their parents or siblings.

Beyond the family circumstances, the video has resonated with thousands of people for the simplicity of the moment: two brothers seeing each other for the first time after a lifetime and embracing as if trying to regain, in just a few seconds, all the time that life had taken from them.
