Cubans took to the streets to protest against the regime this Saturday in the town of Guatemala, in the municipality of Mayarí, Holguín, during a new day of demonstrations on the island.
A video shared by activist Lara Crofts shows almost the entire town parading through the streets of the eastern village in darkness, accompanied by the sound of pots and pans.
This Saturday, the neighbors of Nuevo Vedado, in Havana, made their pots clamor in the night, expressing their discontent with the regime.
"Strong cacerolazo in Nuevo Vedado, near Boyeros and Tulipán. We are all Morón right now," reported journalist Yoani Sánchez, who shared a video where the powerful sound of pots being banged can be heard.
This is the second time in recent days that a pot-banging protest has been reported in this neighborhood near the Plaza de la Revolución, following the one reported last Thursday.
Friday was the most intense day of protests in Cuba in recent months. A massive demonstration took to the streets of Morón in Ciego de Ávila.
Numerous videos on social media show groups of neighborhood residents marching through the streets, shouting slogans against the government and staging pot-banging protests.
During the demonstrations, clashes also occurred outside the municipal headquarters of the Party, where a fire was reported in the street and damage was caused to the building.
