A group of Cubans detained in an immigration center in Louisiana, United States, staged a protest demanding food and reported on the conditions inside the facility.

The images, shared on the Instagram account La República Repartera, show several migrants repeatedly asking for food while remaining in custody.

In the video, the detainees can be heard repeatedly demanding "food," indicating their dissatisfaction with the lack of attention to their basic needs inside the center.

It is also evident how some strike the beds with their hands and legs, in a gesture of protest and frustration over the situation they are facing.

The recording also captures moments of tension, when several of the Cubans raise the volume of their demands and, seemingly directed at the guards, hurl insults.

According to the released material, migrants are reporting deficiencies in detention conditions, in a context where they are waiting for the resolution of their immigration status.

The case adds to the debate about the treatment of immigrants in detention centers in the United States, particularly regarding access to food and decent conditions during the legal process.
