Yudania Gómez Heredia, a conductor born in Santa Clara (Villa Clara) in 1994 and now based in Germany, shared details of her collaboration with Rosalía on the Lux Tour 2026 during an interview for the podcast Las Cosmos.
The young woman made her statements the day after the premiere of Rosalía's tour at the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. "It all turned out really well, and for it to be the first time, everyone is usually tense, it felt a bit surreal for me," she noted.
Yudania directs the Heritage Orchestra in this large-scale production and shared that it was Rosalía herself who personally reached out to propose the collaboration.
"She told me, 'I want to talk to you to collaborate and so on.' Then her production team got in touch with me," the director explained. The Cuban confessed that at first, she couldn't believe what was happening.
"I was stunned. I thought, 'wow, it's just too beautiful to be true,' but then I saw that it was real. Everything happened so quickly," she said, describing the experience as something that surprised her from the very first moment.
The premiere of the Lux Tour, held on Monday in Lyon, was described by Yudania as a resounding success. The stadium was full, and the audience responded with great enthusiasm both towards the stage performance and the orchestra, located at the center of the stage.
"The stadium is filled with people, and the people are full of love. You can feel the vibe of those who want to be there," he/she recounted.
The director emphasized that the attendees were not only focused on the dancers and the visual performance, but also paid attention to the musicians. "The audience is incredibly appreciative of the orchestra. People watched intently as everyone played. It was amazing, and I enjoyed it a lot."
Yudania arrived in Germany to study Sacred Music at the University of Regensburg and later pursued a master's degree in Choral Conducting at the Nuremberg University of Music.
Her journey of blending Cuban musical heritage with European Gregorian chant and jazz has made her an internationally acclaimed figure.
Before this collaboration, she had already been selected as a Mentee of the Taki Alsop Fellowship 2027, founded by the renowned conductor Marin Alsop to support women orchestra conductors.
On social media, Yudania has over 70,000 followers on Instagram, where she shares classical music in an accessible way.
The Lux Tour 2026 is the most ambitious arena tour of Rosalía's career: 42 concerts in 17 countries, starting with the premiere in Lyon and concluding on September 3 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The production includes two stages, dancers, multiple wardrobe changes, and visual elements inspired by Baroque and religious themes, such as a large hanging silver Botafumeiro.
The album that names the tour, Lux, was released in November 2025 and broke the Spotify record with 42.1 million streams in a single day for a Spanish-speaking female artist.
