The statements of a Cuban father who criticized the government amid the blackouts continue to generate reactions on social media, where many users agree that there are few things left to defend on the island.
The original message, disseminated by CiberCuba, showed a family cooking with firewood on the rooftop and contained harsh criticisms aimed at Miguel Díaz-Canel and Manuel Marrero, questioning the disparities between the living conditions of the people and the leadership.
From that publication, dozens of comments reflect a common sentiment among many Cubans: the lack of motivation to support the official narrative.
One of the phrases that users repeat the most is the question "defend what?", referring to the government's calls for resistance and defense of the country.
"Let those who have no problems defend it, those who have guaranteed breakfast, lunch, and dinner, those who sleep with air conditioning," commented a user, highlighting the gap between the reality of the people and the ruling elite.
"Many are cooking with firewood... a bag of charcoal costs 2,000 pesos and lasts less than 10 days," recounted an internet user.
"More than 15 to 20 hours of blackout daily... we can't take it anymore," another added.
The reactions reflect a widespread exhaustion in response to the economic crisis, prolonged blackouts, and food shortages.
“We are many in the same situation and we can’t take it anymore,” wrote a user.
“It’s the sad reality of the Cuban people,” noted another.
Several users directly held the government accountable for the country's situation and questioned the lack of response to everyday problems.
"They never thought of the people, they only used them to perpetuate themselves in power," stated a commentator.
Others pointed out that the State prioritizes repression instead of addressing social demands.
