A Cuban has shared a video on TikTok in which he describes how he imagines life on the Island in a scenario of freedom, based on everyday situations that are currently limited for many citizens.
The user, identified as @joetorrxs, focuses his message on the possibility of improving living conditions through personal work. "Imagine opening the business you've always dreamed of and being able to support your entire family with your work," he suggests at the beginning of the video.
Throughout the material, it also mentions basic aspirations related to daily life, such as having stable services and access to food: "Imagine having electricity, food in the fridge," it states, referencing common shortages in the country.
The video also includes elements related to quality of life and mobility, such as the possibility of traveling: “Imagine being able to plan a vacation once a year, to Rome, Paris, or perhaps the Canary Islands,” it adds.
Another point he addresses is the impact of emigration on Cuban families, highlighting the desire to avoid separations: “or simply the family together, with no more sad goodbyes at the airports.”
In his message, the creator also refers to cultural and symbolic aspects, such as the celebration of concerts on the Island or the recognition of national products, as well as the country's improved performance in areas like sports and music.
The video concludes with an idea that summarizes its point: “And this is not a dream, it is what should be normal,” presenting these changes as basic aspirations for the country.
