A group of worshippers sang the hymn "Cuba libre" during a service at a Pentecostal church in Santiago de Cuba, in a scene that was captured on video and has started to circulate on social media.

According to reported by communicator Yosmany Mayeta, the incident took place in a gathering in the town of El Cristo, where young people and adults participated energetically in the choir, chanting slogans related to the freedom of the island.

The images show dozens of people singing passionately inside the temple, in an atmosphere marked by a strong emotional tone.

Some internet users identified the location and the religious leader. “That’s in El Cristo, that’s Pastor Jorge Pérez,” said Maricela Gorra Cardosa, in agreement with other comments that confirmed the location.

However, the video has generated multiple reactions. Some users interpreted the moment as a spiritual expression related to the desire for change in the country.

"Hopefully that chant becomes the greatest desire of all of us who are Christians. May Cuba be free!" commented Fer Tamayo Tur.

Other messages also highlighted the religious nature of the moment. "We place it in the hands of the living God so that this dream may come true," wrote Yohankna Berroa, while Carbonell Anisleydis stated that various churches are praying for Cuba.

However, there were also critical views on the mixing of religion and politics. “The church is a sacred place; it should not interfere in politics,” noted Eusebio Pelegrín.

The video reflects how, even in religious spaces, expressions arise that connect with the social context the country is experiencing, marked by economic difficulties and a growing desire for change among various sectors of the population.
