The vehicle of Catholic priest Lester Rafael Zayas Díaz was found vandalized this Monday in Havana, as reported by the priest himself through his Facebook profile, where he posted photographs showing the shattered side window glass and the damaged exterior rearview mirror.

This is not the first time Zayas' car has suffered an attack of this kind. According to a pattern of vandalism against his vehicle, repeated on two occasions, this strengthens suspicions of systematic harassment against the priest for his criticism of the Cuban regime.

On a previous occasion, the windows of his vehicle had previously been found broken after a night of blackout.

According to La Hora de Cuba, Zayas did not directly accuse any entity, but his words left little doubt about his suspicions: Some call this dialogue. It's his polite way of saying if we want, we can break you.

The priest stated that, although he has no evidence, he has no doubts either about who might have authorized the attack, and he used the expression the Pilate's of all times to refer to those who, in his view, try to intimidate him without being able to seize the truth.

Zayas promised to provide more context in due time.

The religious leader has consistently been a critical voice against the Cuban government, even directly challenging President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

On one occasion, the leader responded to a victim with the phrase "And I don't have one to give you right now either.", which prompted renewed criticism from religious sectors.

Zayas himself had demanded that the government Resign if you cannot silence that terrible cry that arises from the Cuban people.
