A new video of a family reunion in Cuba has touched thousands of people on social media, where images of an embrace after years of separation have sparked a wave of emotions, tears, and messages of identification.

The moment, shared on TikTok, captures the instant when a young woman returns to the island and reunites with her mother after three years apart. The scene, full of emotion, reflects a reality faced by thousands of Cubans separated from their families.

But beyond the video, it was the message from the protagonist herself that truly resonated with many. “We are never prepared to go... don't wait to have money or to bring them something,” she wrote, referring to the importance of not postponing those meetings.

In his words, he also made clear the emotional impact experienced by those who remain on the island: “They cannot imagine what our parents endure until we go to embrace them”. And he summarized the experience with a phrase that resonates among many emigrants: “It’s like being born again”.

Reactions came swiftly. “I pray for that meeting every second of my life,” commented one user, while another confessed, “I can’t watch a video like this without crying.” There were also those who expressed hope: “My moment will be this year.”

The video brings back to the forefront a reality shaped by distance, sacrifices, and the significance of reunions. For many, that embrace is not just a happy moment, but a deep emotional necessity: a pause, a source of strength… and, as the protagonist said, a way to be reborn.
