Heidy Díaz Sosa, a 42-year-old Cuban resident of Houston, Texas, shared details of her recent childbirth on TikTok this week, an experience she described as intense, exhausting, and in her own words, “the most horrible thing in the world,” though it had a happy ending.
The video, published last Sunday, shows the mother holding her newborn while she candidly narrates everything she experienced during the childbirth, from her initial doubts to the recovery process.
According to her account, the labor lasted for 18 hours, a notable contrast to her previous experience. Díaz Sosa has a 25-year-old daughter and recalled that at that time the process was much faster: “I had her in ten minutes.”
On this occasion, however, everything was different. The Cuban explained that the process was extremely difficult and that she even needed 16 stitches after giving birth. "It was the most horrible thing in the world," she confessed while describing the toughest moments.
Despite the intensity of the process, she assured that the epidural was key to managing the pain. She recounted that she did not feel the contractions, although she did strongly experience the pushing, which she described as a very intense sensation.
Díaz Sosa also took the opportunity in her testimony to recommend to other mothers not to be afraid of using the epidural, emphasizing that in her case she has not suffered any lasting effects.
Currently, both she and her baby are in good health, although she acknowledges that she is still in the process of recovering from the demanding delivery.
