The Cuban influencer Claudia Artiles suffered a dramatic fall yesterday on the stairs of her home in Miami while carrying her son Marlon in her arms, and she shared the entire experience with her followers through a video recorded by her home security camera.

The accident occurred on the steps of the main entrance, which are made of tiles. The cause was a water bottle on the ground that Claudia didn't see in time.

She explained it herself in the overlay text of the video: "I fell with Marlon in my arms, I tried to keep him from falling and I fell really hard. For a moment I thought it was the blanket but no, now looking at the video I slipped on a water bottle".

Claudia's instinct was to protect Marlon at all costs, and she succeeded: the three-year-old boy with Down syndrome was unharmed. It was she who took the full impact against the steps. "I cried like a child, a great pain," she wrote in the same video.

His partner, Ultrack, was sleeping when he heard the scream. He also posted his own video recounting what he saw afterward: "She slipped down the stairs, which are not wooden; they are tiled. And she was with the child, so to prevent the child from getting hurt, she was the one who took the hit."

The images from the video show a long, reddish scrape on Claudia's leg, resulting from contact with the stone steps. According to Ultrack, a swelling ball also formed, which started to go down after taking ibuprofen.

In the comments, Claudia responded directly to her followers with the same mix of relief and pain: "Life hurts me, but we're okay, Marlon is fine." In another message, she added: "Mom, what a pain, but he is fine, he was scared to see me like this."

Claudia's community responded with an outpouring of love and admiration for her maternal instinct. One follower summarized what many felt upon watching the video: "Her protective instinct is stronger than any physical pain. That 'It's okay, daddy, it's okay, don't be scared,' was said just to keep fear from touching her child's heart." Another wrote: "I felt it myself, but Marlon is okay; that was felt in the heart. A mother may be struggling, but for our children, we will always be okay. What a painful but at the same time loving video."

The fall occurred on a particularly intense day for Claudia, who also published a video that same day responding to criticism about Marlon's care, in which the child demonstrated his progress counting from one to five and using sign language.

Claudia Artiles is a Cuban content creator based in Miami, known for documenting her motherhood with Marlon and for raising awareness about Down syndrome through messages of love and inclusion. She has been in a relationship with Ultrack since March 2025.
