Velito El Bufón released a preview of his new song this Monday, "I Miss You", and social media went wild: his followers quickly started calling him "the Shakiro of Cuba."

The clip, posted on Instagram, has garnered thousands of  views in just a few hours, and the song hasn't even been released yet.

The lyrics of the preview say it all: "I moved to a new house, burned our photos, created a new profile on Instagram. I changed my routine, even my diet, but deep down, everything remains the same. I slept in another bed, sometimes with another person, tried a new fling. One of the best. And this movie didn't change the drama; I haven't gotten over you. I miss you, why don't we give it another shot and get back together? Seeing you with someone else drives me crazy with jealousy."

The timing was impossible to ignore: the announcement was published exactly on the 21st birthday of Thalía, his ex-partner and mother of his two children, who was celebrating that same day in Varadero with Harold Iglesias, the digital creator with whom she is romantically linked.

The most popular comments on the post point directly to her. "Instead of bringing it up on Friday, bring it up today since it's her birthday," wrote a follower with 302 likes. "For Talia 3," added another with 172 likes.

But the comment that made the most noise was one that compared him to the Colombian singer: "Cuba's Shakira", referring to Shakira's strategy of turning her breakup with Piqué into a string of musical hits.

The comparison spread quickly among fans. "Not even Shakira released that many songs when she broke up with Piqué," wrote one user. Another commented bluntly: "How smart he is; if he knows this: now that there's controversy with his ex, he drops all those songs."

There were those who clearly read the play: "In terms of understanding, they should realize that the goal of these issues is to monetize the controversial situation of their separation. Stop telling them to get back together."

Others simply celebrated the new masculine paradigm: "NOW men no longer get jealous, they don't make fools of themselves, MEN CASH IN."

This Monday, the same day as the announcement, Velito also officially confirmed his relationship with Paula Martínez, a cabin crew member, and requested to be left in peace: "We've been apart for almost 6 months... I'm really happy that she's starting her life with a new relationship and I have my current partner... I kindly ask that you stop the gossip."

On April 9, he had released "Cuidámela" alongside Dany Ome and Kevincito El 13, featuring verses of remorse that everyone interpreted as dedicated to Thalía: "I know I hurt you by swimming with other fish… but I wish for your happiness, if in the end, you deserve it."

"No has come out yet and it's already a success," summarized a follower. "I Miss You" premieres this Friday, April 17th.
