Cuban influencer Claudia Artiles shared on her Instagram stories this Tuesday the details of the dramatic fall she experienced on the stairs of her house in Miami while carrying her three-year-old son Marlon, who has Down syndrome.

The accident occurred when a bottle of water on the stairs made her lose her balance. Claudia took the full impact to protect the child, resulting in a long scrape on her leg above the knee, significant swelling in her foot, and intense pain. Marlon emerged unscathed.

In several videos posted to her Instagram stories, the influencer recounted what happened: "Thank God the fall didn't lead to anything serious; I'm okay given the circumstances, I have pain and my leg is really swollen."

"I fell really hard; I definitely hurt the upper part of my knees, but it's not that serious," he explained. "I hit myself really hard, you can't imagine how hard I hit, I hit the bone, I scraped it there."

To treat her wounds, Claudia turned to iodine and anti-inflammatories: "I'm healing with iodine, I'm taking anti-inflammatories because my foot got really swollen."

What affected her the most emotionally was the moment after the fall. "That was something else; I started crying like a little girl when Ultrack hugged me. I cried with so much emotion," she said, referring to her partner. She even called her mother in Cuba through tears: "I had to call my mom in Cuba for comfort: 'Mom, I fell,' and it was like a feeling and a pain at the same time that I can't explain to you."

Claudia was emphatic in describing the terror experienced when falling while holding a small child: "I wouldn't wish that kind of fall with a little one on anyone, the fright you feel is immense."

During the accident, her only thought was to protect Marlon. "All I was thinking was that nothing would happen to Marlon, that nothing would happen to Marlon, while I was falling. What was going through my mind was to protect Marlon," she recounted. "I scraped my life, but nothing happened to Marlon, thank God, which is what matters."

The accident occurs during a period of intense public exposure for the influencer. Just the day before, she had responded to criticism regarding Marlon's care with a video in which the child counts from one to five and uses sign language.
