The Cuban influencer Flor de Cuba announced this Thursday with great excitement that she has been nominated for the Emerging Creator of the Year category at the TikTok Shop awards, one of the most prestigious recognitions on the platform for its sellers.
The news came through an Instagram reel where Flor shared the moment her TikTok Shop manager wrote to surprise her. "When my TikTok Shop manager texted me and said, 'Flor, you're nominated for an award,' I was like, what? No way," she expressed, visibly excited.
"I feel like I’ve already won because the fact that I’m nominated is incredibly important. For me, this is already an achievement, considering everything I went through, my journey, for those who know me from Cuba, and who know what I was before, to what I am now," assured the content creator.
Beyond the nomination, for Flor, it is about a collective victory: "I am representing all the Cuban women who are doing TikTok Shop. I am representing all the Latina women who are doing TikTok Shop, uh, all the women who have been in the deepest hole and rose up."
The greatest gratitude was for her partner: "Thanks to the nomination, first to God, then to my husband, Alex, who works tirelessly editing, publishing, standing by my side, allowing me to shine, putting everything in order so I can shine, giving me my place, supporting me in everything."
Recognition is not a coincidence. Since arriving in Miami Flor de Cuba has built a remarkable career as a seller on the platform that has astonished both friends and strangers.
Its figures speak for themselves. In its first weeks of activity, it reached one million dollars in sales in just 27 days, a milestone that few creators achieve throughout their career on the platform.
The growth did not stop there. Shortly after, it generated 1.8 million in gross sales, establishing itself as one of the most prominent figures in live commerce on TikTok Shop in the United States.
Her performance led her to rank in the top 1% of global sellers on the platform, an achievement that is now crowned with this nomination for one of the most coveted awards in the TikTok Shop ecosystem.
