The Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) rose five pesos this Monday in the Cuban informal market, reaching 395 CUP, according to monitoring by the independent media elTOQUE.
The dollar and euro remain unchanged: the dollar is priced at 525 CUP and the euro at 600 CUP.
In the case of the European currency, this is a record value reached this Sunday that broke that psychological barrier for the first time in history of the Cuban currency crisis.
The rise of the European currency has been rapid: it was quoted at 418 CUP in June 2025, reached 485 CUP in September, 515 CUP in October, 565 CUP in February 2026, and 580 CUP in March.
Exchange Rate Evolution
Reached a historic high of 588 CUP on April 6, before nearly hitting 598 CUP last Friday and ultimately reaching 600 CUP this Sunday.
The dollar, for its part, reached its historical high of 525 CUP on April 12 and has maintained that level since then.
The MLC, for its part, has shown marked volatility in recent weeks, during which it has fluctuated recurrently between 385 CUP and 400 CUP.

The OMFi warns that the recent apparent moderation in the market does not reflect a structural improvement, in a context where Cuba projects a contraction of the Cuban GDP of 7.2% in 2026.
"This lower pressure in the market reflects an economy with less capacity for movement and currency generation," the organization points out, in a scenario further aggravated by the issuance of new 2,000 and 5,000 CUP banknotes, generating inflationary pressure.
