So far in 2026, eleven airlines have suspended their flights to Cuba, and only eight companies continue their routes to the island, according to a report published by the specialized portal Reportur.

The trigger for the cascade of cancellations was NOTAM A0356/26, issued on February 9, 2026, in which the Cuban government alerted that there would be no Jet A-1 fuel available at nine international airports in the country: Havana, Varadero, Holguín, Santiago de Cuba, Camagüey, Cienfuegos, Santa Clara, Cayo Coco, and Manzanillo.

Based on the content of the article, these are the 11 airlines that have suspended flights to Cuba so far in 2026:

  • Air Canada
  • WestJet
  • Sunwing
  • Air Transat
  • LATAM Peru
  • Magnicharters
  • Air France
  • Iberia
  • Russia
  • Northwind
  • Turkish Airlines

Some of these suspensions are temporary and have announced return dates, while others do not yet have a clear forecast, which reinforces the uncertainty in Cuba's air connectivity.

According to the article itself, these are the 8 airlines that continue to operate flights to Cuba:

  • Air Europa
  • W2Fly (World2Fly)
  • Aeroméxico
  • Viva (Viva Aerobus)
  • Copa Airlines
  • American Airlines
  • Delta Air Lines
  • Southwest Airlines

Several of these companies do not operate their flights to Cuba with full normality, but rather with adjustments such as technical stopovers in third countries or operational changes. Connectivity remains, but it is under pressure due to the fuel crisis.

The most recent development was led by Air Transat, which on Tuesday suspended the sale of flights to Cuba between mid-June and the end of October 2026, automatically refunding all existing reservations.

The airline based in Montreal had informed its travel advisors last month that it would resume operations on June 20, a date that is now uncertain.
