The Cuban content creator Alain Pérez, known on social media as @blessd_alain, shared a video that has touched many users by showing, without filters, the harsh reality faced in Cuba amidst power outages, heat, uncertainty, and emotional exhaustion.
“This is not a nice day with me, this is what life is really like here in Cuba,” said the young man as he began his account, describing a day marked by a prolonged blackout.
"I woke up in a blackout, but not just any blackout, one of those long ones that seem to never end," they expressed.
Alain recounted that the first thing he did was light a charcoal stove "to make coffee for the old lady," his grandmother. This is a common scene for many Cuban families forced to find ways to cope with the lack of electricity.
The young man also talked about the psychological toll that this situation of continuous scarcity and shortages takes. "When the power goes out, it's not just the food that spoils; you start to spoil too," he stated.
Amidst the heat, mosquitoes, and constant worry about the future, she confessed that sleeping "has become a luxury" and that she often wonders, "How long will this last?"
Despite the exhaustion, Alain ended his message with hope: "Let us have faith that one day we will overcome this, because it will happen, and it will be very soon."
Her words reflect the exhaustion of a generation that, even in the midst of the crisis, remains clinging to the idea of an imminent change.
