Yomil Hidalgo publicly reacted to the concert of Jacob Forever last Saturday at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida, with an emotional message on social media inspired by the tribute the artist paid on stage to two deceased figures of Cuban reggaeton: El Dany and El Taiger.

In a story posted on his Instagram account, Yomil wrote: "Great @jacobforever, congratulations on everything legend, history always rewards the wild ones, you broke through as usual."

The message was accompanied by an image projected on the stage screen showing two men posing together, in what was one of the most emotionally charged moments of the night.

The concert, titled “Celebrating His Immortal Career”, took place on Saturday, April 25, at the Watsco Center, which has a capacity of over 6,000 people, and ended in a sold-out performance, solidifying Jacob Forever as one of the most popular Cuban artists in exile.

The tribute to El Dany and El Taiger holds a special emotional significance for Yomil, as El Dany —whose real name was Daniel Muñoz— was his inseparable partner in the duo Yomil and El Dany, who passed away on July 18, 2020 due to an acute cardiovascular condition in Havana.

On his part, El Taiger —José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar— was found with a gunshot wound to the head on October 3, 2024, in Miami and passed away a week later at Jackson Memorial Hospital, at the age of 37.

Jacob Forever maintained personal and artistic ties with both artists, and the gesture of honoring them on his big night resonated deeply within the Cuban exile community.

The connection between Jacob Forever and Yomil also has concrete musical roots: both collaborated on the song "You Have to See That", released in October 2022 as part of Yomil's album Sensei, in a posthumous tribute to El Dany.

The concert at the Watsco Center also featured guest artists such as Alexander Delgado, El Chacal, Dany Ome, Kevincito El 13, Wow Popy, Divan, and Yotuel Romero.

One of the highlights was the performance of "Puente Libertad" alongside El Chacal and Yotuel, which evoked a united cry for Cuba from the audience present at the venue.

Jacob Forever also dedicated words to his girlfriend Roxana Rivero from the stage: “I love you, my love”, in another moment that marked the evening.

The case of El Taiger's murder remains open: Damián Valdez-Galloso, known as "El Narra," faces first-degree murder charges, although the trial has been postponed multiple times and still has no definitive date.

On the first anniversary of El Taiger's death, Jacob Forever dedicated a message to him on Instagram: "It has been a year since your departure. Rest in peace [...] We miss you so much, Titingui", further demonstrating the bond the artist shares with those who are no longer with us.
