The showbiz past of Yomil's fiancée: from El Taiger to starring in Alexander Delgado's music video

Yomil's girlfriend, Rodmelis Núñez, had connections to the Cuban entertainment scene: she was a close friend of El Taiger and appeared in a music video by Alexander Delgado.

When Yomil officially introduced Rodmelis Núñez as his new girlfriend this Wednesday on Instagram, his followers quickly delved into the profile of the young Cuban residing in the United States. What they found revealed a story that goes far beyond being "the girlfriend of the reggaeton artist": Rodmelis already had deep ties to the world of Cuban urban music, particularly with one of its most beloved and tragic icons.

The digital trace points directly to El Taiger. In October 2024, just days after the artist's passing, Rodmelis posted an emotional tribute on TikTok and Instagram that garnered over 122,900 views and 3,506 likes.

In the text, he called him by his full name and wrote: "You will always be Jose Manuel Carvajal Zaldivar to me, one of the best people with the most beautiful and pure feelings I have ever known."

The post included a photo of them together at a nighttime event, featuring white flower decorations and purple lighting, as well as screenshots of private Instagram conversations where the artist wrote to him: "One thing I know for sure is that my victories are yours too" and "And if I had another, I would choose you again."

Rodmelis also shared the pain of that loss with a frankness that moved those who read it: "You gave me so much, so much more than you may have known, you were always there for me when I needed you, thank you for every lesson, for every memory, and for every moment you gave me."

In the comments, several users speculated about the nature of her relationship with El Taiger. She was straightforward: "No, darling, we were very good friends." To those questioning how many people were paying tribute, she replied without hesitation: "And the ones who are missing, because he was a man with many FRIENDS, something you don't know how to differentiate."

He also made his stance clear regarding external opinions: "I know exactly the place that José holds in my heart and I in his. External opinions do not define who I am or my worth."

In April 2025, Rodmelis remembered him again in a new TikTok video: "I will miss you forever Jose... we may not have many moments captured on camera, but we have lived them and that is what I take with me from you."

But Rodmelis' connection to the Cuban urban scene goes beyond her friendship with El Taiger. The young woman appears in the official music video for "Remember Me," a collaboration between Alain Daniel and Alexander Delgado —from Gente de Zona—, released in May 2022.

Her presence in that video shows that Rodmelis had already been frequenting the circles of Cuban urban music years before she became widely known.

The profile that emerges from these discoveries is that of a young woman who did not enter the Cuban entertainment world through Yomil, but rather already had her own place in it: a close friend of one of the most beloved artists of her generation, and a recognizable face in audiovisual productions of top-tier figures. As she herself wrote when bidding farewell to El Taiger: "Fly high José, I promise your legacy will live on forever. LA TRANKA DE MI PAIS."
