Thalía, the former partner of Cuban singer Velito El Bufón, stirred up social media again this Friday with an Instagram post that thousands of followers immediately interpreted as a powerful hint directed at her ex.
The young woman shared a video in which she appears from behind, wearing a loose white dress and with long dark hair, sitting in front of the sea during a sunset that exudes tranquility and confidence. The accompanying text was brief yet striking: "And remember, pregnancy only lasts 9 months." As a caption for the post, Thalía simply added: "Just saying."
The post accumulated in just a few hours 47,853 views, 12,420 likes, and 286 comments, with a flood of support and messages of female empowerment.
The context surrounding the publication explains the immediate explosion of reactions. Thalía and Velito announced their separation on February 20, just 11 days after the birth of their second child together, Thiago, with her just having given birth. At that time, the young woman explained that the breakup had occurred during her pregnancy.
Additionally, it's worth noting that the singer left Cuba on February 12—three days after the childbirth—for a European tour, where he was seen for the first time with his new partner, Paula Martínez, a Spanish flight attendant. He made their relationship official on Thalía's 21st birthday.
Last Wednesday, Velito arrived in Havana with her and introduced her to the cameras as "my wife," which sparked a new wave of criticism on social media.
One day before Thalía's post on Mother's Day, the young woman received a mysterious bouquet of black roses whose sender was not revealed, although Velito's "like" on the florist's post further fueled speculation.
The comments on the new post exploded within minutes, with indirect shots at Velito, total support for Thalía, and phrases of female empowerment.
The most interacted comment was: "Do you want to know who a person is? Give them money!!!!! But don't worry, when the ungrateful forgets, life makes sure to remind them." Another one that went viral was: "And Yemayá puts every clown in their circus."
Phrases like "After pregnancy, there's lifeeeee," "She doesn't need him to come back... too much light for someone who can't tell shadows apart," and "That's right, and after those 9, we'll give them one so they want to come back" also resonated.
Thalía's tone—calm, confident, without directly mentioning Velito—is exactly what her followers admire most, as one of the most praised comments summarized: "It's just that without making a fuss, she speaks the truth."
It is not the first time that the young woman has sent messages that her followers interpret as responses to the situation. In April, she posted a viral video in which she declared: “No single mother here, I am a single woman, my kids are not looking for a dad,” which accumulated 409,000 views.
Any publication related to Thalía and Velito remains enough to instantly spark conversations on social media, turning their story into the most followed romantic controversy in Cuban entertainment so far in 2026.
