A Cuban content creator known as La Obbatalasita starred in a viral TikTok video where she bluntly criticizes women who engage in attacking and "destroying" other women over their physical appearances.
In the video published in early May, the Cuban pulls no punches: "I don’t understand how these women have the courage to tear down other women, saying she is ugly, she is thin, she is overweight, she has dark skin, she has crazy hair."
The creator points directly to economic inequalities as a factor that many critiques overlook: "Not everyone has the same opportunities, let's start with that. For the world to be a world, there has to be a variety of everything."
Her central message is clear: instead of tearing each other down, women should support one another. "Those women who spend their time destroying other women, instead of providing support so that those women can rise up and feel good, are only doing harm to others," she points out in the 59-second clip.
The video concludes with an ironic phrase infused with Cuban popular humor, directed straight at critics: "Maybe you can have a whole bunch of qualities; all those women out there criticizing other women might have a whole bunch of qualities."
This type of content is part of a well-established trend on TikTok, where Cuban women express their outrage against social behaviors that they consider unjust, sparking heated debates among both Cubans on the island and in the diaspora.
It is not the first time that the issue of rivalry between women has sparked controversy within the Cuban community on social media. In June 2025, another creator went viral for defending Cuban women against foreigners in the context of romantic relationships, and in December of the same year, another Cuban generated viral reactions by sharing her views on marriage and female dignity.
The artistic name of the creator, La Obbatalasita, refers to Obbatalá, one of the most revered orishas in Cuban santería, associated with purity, peace, wisdom, and justice. This digital identity linked to Afro-Cuban spirituality is common among content creators in the community.
The video amassed 22,000 views, 1,352 likes, and 234 comments, figures that reflect the significant impact that this type of direct denunciation generates within the Cuban community on the platform.
