The Cuban artist Hallel Génesis traveled to Cuba to perform in Varadero for the start of summer and documented her trip in her Instagram with photos and videos in a bikini from the beaches of the island's main tourist hub.

In the images, Hallel is seen wearing a white bikini top that leaves very little to the imagination, enjoying the sea, the hotel facilities, and the warm temperatures of Cuba.

"The only thing I needed was the little beach in Cuba," she confessed in one of the posts while posing with the sea in the background.

In several stories, she shared her excitement and enthusiasm for singing again in front of the Cuban audience.

The artist also shared a story featuring the Cuban singer Zurdo MC during the Summer kickoff party, with the song "Poquitico" playing in the background. In the post, she dedicated the message "My broo personalll" to the artist.

This return to the island is not the first. Hallel Génesis has traveled to Cuba several times for musical collaborations, such as the one she did with Yomil Hidalgo, and to record music videos for her songs.

The decision to perform in Varadero was expected. Last year, when asked if he would sing in Cuba, Hallel responded without hesitation that he would do it "a million times yes" and that he dreamed of a "giant show in a stadium." That statement elicited mixed reactions within the Cuban community.

The trip places her once again at the center of a recurring and highly sensitive controversy: that of Cuban artists living in Miami who travel to perform on the island; especially now, amidst a context of widespread crisis in Cuba where prioritizing a party to celebrate the start of summer in a tourist hotspot, in the midst of hunger, misery, and power outages, seems incomprehensible.

Recently, Willy Chirino criticized those who “navigate in both waters,” performing for the regime and the exile without taking a political stance, criticisms that in one way or another have fallen on Hallel.
