The Cuban singer Hallel Génesis took advantage of her recent trip to Cuba to make a gesture that has generated numerous reactions on social media. The artist, based in Miami, visited the Hogar Materno de Güines in the Mayabeque province and gave gifts to the pregnant women admitted to the center.
Hallel traveled to the island to participate in the "Start of Summer 2026" event, held in Varadero, where he took part in the musical performances of the weekend. However, beyond his performance, he wanted to dedicate part of his stay to a charitable initiative that, as he explained, he had wanted to carry out for some time.
Through a video shared on Instagram, the singer revealed that she decided to gather baby items that had belonged to one of her younger sisters and donate them to future mothers.
"Gentlemen, as many of you know, I am here in Cubita la Bella. I had a little sister, and we have decided to gather all the things she left behind, which are literally new, to come and donate them," she explained.
The images show Hallel personally delivering the gifts to each of the expectant mothers, a gesture that was met with smiles and gratitude.
The artist also wanted to clarify the reason why she decided to share the moment on social media. "I’m not sharing this video to show off what I do, but to encourage you to give just a little of what God gives us," she wrote alongside the post.
The gesture was widely applauded by his followers, especially by people from Güines who immediately recognized the place. "Thank you for that detail, I'm a mother and I know what it means for moms who don’t have much and receive such useful things," commented one user. Another wrote: "That's the maternal home of Güines, my little town."
The initiative is particularly significant in a context marked by the difficulties faced by many Cuban families and the material limitations encountered by institutions dedicated to caring for high-risk pregnant women.
As is often the case on social media, criticism was not lacking. Some users questioned why the artist recorded the moment, while others connected the donation to her participation in the Varadero event.
In response to those comments, a person close to Hallel replied that this kind of action has been a part of his life for a long time. "You have no idea how many times we have provided this kind of assistance, not just in Cuba but also here in Miami. We do it because it comes from the heart. If God blesses us, we can also bless others," he wrote.
Beyond the controversy, Hallel's visit to the Maternal Home of Güines left images that many of her followers highlighted for the impact they can have on women going through such an important stage of their lives.
