The Iranian Army announced this Monday the end of its military operations against Israel, although it conditioned the cessation on the Jewish state halting its attacks against Lebanon, according to reported by the EFE agency.

"Following Iran's firm response to the Zionist regime, the cessation of operations by the Armed Forces is declared," stated the Khatam al-Anbiya Unified Operations Command in a statement reported by Iranian media.

The same statement included a direct warning: if Israel resumes its aggressions against Beirut or southern Lebanon, Tehran will carry out "much more severe and forceful actions than those taken thus far."

The announcement comes after an intense escalation that unfolded during the night of Sunday and into the early hours of Monday, when Iran launched several waves of missiles against Israel in retaliation for Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory.

Israel responded by attacking multiple targets in Iran, including the outskirts and the center of Tehran, as well as a petrochemical complex in Mahshahr, in the province of Khuzestan, which reportedly suffered "partial damage" according to Iranian authorities.

Iran claimed to have launched a second round of attacks on Israeli military bases at Tel Nof and Nevatim early on Monday morning. The Houthis from Yemen also fired a missile at Israeli territory, which was intercepted.

The casualty count in Iranian territory rose to at least 15 people, according to the National Emergency Organization, as reported by the Tasnim agency. Fourteen of the injured were registered at the Mahshahr petrochemical complex and one in Tehran; only one remained hospitalized.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, urged both parties to cease fighting through a message on Truth Social: "Israel and Iran must stop shooting immediately."

Trump had attempted on Sunday, without success, to persuade Israeli Prime Minister Benjamín Netanyahu not to retaliate against Iran in order to avoid complicating the nuclear negotiations that Washington is conducting with Tehran. According to reports gathered by Infobae, Trump also sent a direct message to the Iranian regime: "You have already fired your missiles, enough. Get back to the table and make a deal."

The Iranian president, Masud Pezeshkian, emphasized that Tehran has not given up any of its options: "Diplomacy and defense are the two wings of national power; we have not abandoned either the ground of action or the negotiating table," he wrote on X.

As an additional measure, Iran suspended all flights at its airports until further notice. The Airports and Air Navigation Company announced the cancellation in a statement reported by the IRNA news agency and urged citizens not to travel to the airports.

The open armed conflict between Israel and Iran began on February 28, 2026, when Israel and the United States launched a joint military operation against Iran. Since then, multiple ceasefire attempts have failed, and nuclear negotiations mediated by Washington have progressed and regressed alongside the fighting.
