The Cuban influencer and activist Dina Stars announced the birth of her son Derek this Thursday through a reel posted on Instagram, where she shared the news with her community of followers.
“Officially baby Derek is with us. From this experience, I come out more in love than ever with the men in my life,” wrote the content creator, whose real name is Dinorah Castillejo, in the text that accompanied the post.
The video shows Dina in a room with her partner, Isaías, with the overlay message: "It definitely matters who you choose to spend the rest of your life with."
Later, she shared an audio clip of the exact moment of childbirth and her baby's first cry. Although she only showed a little hand of the baby, it was more than enough to move all her followers.
The posts sparked an avalanche of congratulatory messages from their followers, who celebrated the birth with enthusiasm and affection. "Now the real star has arrived. We already love you, baby Derek," wrote one of them. Another commented, "Baby Derek, thousands of blessings and welcome to the world. You made us wait."
The close bond that Dina has built with her community was evident in comments like one from a follower who wrote: "I just got home from work for lunch, and the first thing I asked was if she had already given birth. Here, we talk about Dina as if she were family."
Derek's birth was the culmination of a pregnancy that the influencer actively shared with her followers over several months.
In April 2026, her mother Ileana Fernández, who lived in Cuba, saw the baby's 5D ultrasound via video call and reacted with great emotion.
On May 4, when Dina was already nine months pregnant, an emotional reunion took place at a train station in Spain: Ileana had traveled from Cuba to support her daughter during the delivery, after more than eight months without seeing each other.
Dina Stars has been living in Madrid since 2021, when she emigrated from Cuba after going viral during the protests on July 11, 2021, when she posted a video denouncing police repression that cost her job on the island.
Since then, she has maintained an active profile as a content creator, building a community that today celebrates with her one of the most important moments of her life.
