Brazil defeated Haiti 3-0 this Friday at the , in the second round of Group C of the 2026 World Cup, with all goals scored before halftime.

Matheus Cunha was the standout player of the match with a brace: he opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and doubled the lead in the 36th, taking advantage of Brazil's dominance in midfield.

Vinicius Junior sealed the match in the 45th minute, just before the halftime whistle, to secure the game's outcome in the first half.

The negative note came in the 40th minute when Raphinha had to leave the field due to a muscle discomfort in his right adductor and was replaced by Rayan.

The FC Barcelona forward is struggling with recurring issues in that muscle area —according to Mundo Deportivo, he missed 10 matches this season between club and national team due to the same injury— and his condition raises uncertainty as the group stage comes to a close.

In the second half, Brazil managed the result without any trouble.

The statistics reflect Brazilian dominance: 57% possession, eight total shots with five on target, compared to only two shots on goal from Haiti.

The Caribbean team received three yellow cards—C. Arcus in the fourth minute, F. Pierrot at the 45th, and D. Jean Jacques at the 72nd—and they failed to seriously challenge the Brazilian goalkeeper at any point during the match.

With this victory, Brazil adds 4 points in Group C and is in a qualifying position.

The Canarinha arrived at the match under the pressure of a disappointing debut: the 1-1 draw against Morocco on June 14 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey had left Brazil in a shared second place in the group.

Haiti, on the other hand, is virtually eliminated with two defeats and zero points, after losing to Scotland in the opening match.

Scotland leads Group C with three points and will face Morocco in the final match, while Brazil will conclude their group stage participation against the Scots on June 24, 2026, with qualification for the round of 16 almost assured.
