The rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine found himself caught by his own words on Sunday when he promised on Instagram to marry his Cuban girlfriend Aliday Alter if Japan defeated Tunisia in the 2026 World Cup — and Japan won 4-0.

It all started with a post by Aliday Alter on her Instagram account (@aliday_alter), where the 29-year-old Cuban model appeared pregnant, posing in red lingerie with the message "I don't chase, I attract." The rapper left a comment that no one expected: "If Japan wins, I’ll marry you; if not, then make an effort in life."

The response from Aliday came quickly: «@6ix9ine you messed up now you have to work hard for the wedding», wrote the influencer based in Miami, humorously accepting the deal in front of the more than 7,200 followers who had already liked the photo, including 6ix9ine himself.

The outcome of the match sealed the rapper's fate. Japan crushed Tunisia 4-0 at the BBVA Stadium in Guadalupe, Mexico.

The couple has been living viral moments for over a year. Their relationship began in April 2025, shortly after the rapper separated from the also Cuban Hallel Génesis. In September of that year, Aliday tattooed 6ix9ine's face on her neck as a declaration of love, and in November the rapper gifted her five Chanel bags valued at $25,800.

The most recent chapter of the story came in April 2026, when 6ix9ine confirmed in a livestream with content creators Adin Ross and N3on that Aliday was pregnant, with a phrase that caused a stir: "She got pregnant while I was in jail"—meaning that the baby was conceived while the rapper was serving a three-month sentence in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where he entered on January 6, 2026, for violating his probation.

On May 11, the couple celebrated a gender reveal in Miami which confirmed with blue confetti that they are expecting a boy, their first child together and Tekashi's third. The event also sparked controversy because the rapper stated that if the baby were not a boy, they would go “straight to the abortion clinic”.

Now, with Japan ranked with four points in Group F of the 2026 World Cup and their next match scheduled for June 25 against Sweden at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, the question circulating on social media is another: Will 6ix9ine keep his word?
