Carnival banned the 16 individuals involved for life. "We do not tolerate this type of behavior. They are not welcome on our ships," stated the company.

A brawl between two families in the customs area of PortMiami ended with 16 individuals placed on Carnival Cruise Line's "Do Not Sail" list, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the cruise line to Telemundo 51.

The incident occurred on Monday during the disembarkation of the Carnival Conquest cruise ship, which was returning from a trip to the Bahamas.

According to the company's spokesperson, the altercation erupted while passengers were undergoing the Customs and Border Protection inspection process in the United States.

The video of the incident, shared by the Instagram account OnlyInDade, shows multiple individuals pushing, kicking, and throwing punches at each other amidst the lines of wait, with suitcases and luggage strewn across the floor. The post notes that the chaos involved a minor.

There was a lot of shouting while the scuffle was taking place. The rest of the passengers kept their distance and recorded it with their cell phones.

Customs and Border Protection officers intervened to restore order, and the Miami-Dade County Sheriff's Office also responded to the call. No serious injuries, hospital transfers, or arrests were reported.

Neither family wanted to press charges against the other, the sheriff's office reported.

As a direct consequence, Carnival enforced its conduct policy and banned the 16 individuals from all its cruises.

"We do not tolerate that kind of behavior. These people can seek other cruise lines, but they are not welcome on our ships," stated the company's spokesperson.

Carnival's "Do Not Sail" list is shared among all the brands within the corporation, which includes Princess Cruises, Holland America, and others.

The banned individuals are notified through multiple channels and are denied boarding directly at the dock, even if they manage to make a reservation.

The shipping company's policy also includes fines of up to $500 for passengers whose behavior affects the safety or well-being of others.

This episode is not the first of its kind. In April 2025, Carnival banned 24 passengers after a massive fight at the port of Galveston, Texas, during the disembarkation of the Carnival Jubilee, an incident that also resulted in at least one arrest with criminal charges.

The images from Monday at PortMiami went viral quickly: the post from OnlyInDade garnered over 10,700 reactions in just a few hours, making the incident one of the most talked-about videos on social media in Miami-Dade.
