The Cuban actor Mario Cimarro is going through a very painful time after saying goodbye to Caramelo, his lifelong cat, who passed away this week after being by his side for 14 years.

With an emotional message on Instagram, the star of Pasión de Gavilanes shared the sad news with his followers and revealed that the feline died in his arms.

"Caramelo, Candy as Bree calls you. You have gone to the Rainbow Bridge to meet Mambito. You gave us 14 long years of joy, laughter, and mischief. You left in my arms, my embrace held you and held you, and I didn't want to let go. It's hard to believe it's been 14 years," she wrote alongside a series of photographs that quickly moved her followers.

The images show Cimarro sharing affectionate moments with Caramelo, along with a sweet photo of his nearly four-year-old daughter Briana with the cat. The little one lovingly called him "Candy," a detail that reflects the special bond the entire family had formed with him.

In her farewell, she also mentioned the "Rainbow Bridge," a well-known metaphor that many animal lovers use to envision the place where pets go when they pass away. There, she wrote, Caramelo would reunite with Mambito, another pet that the family lost some time ago.

The post quickly filled with messages of love and support. Many followers shared their own pain over the loss of a pet and sent strength to the actor during this difficult time.

Caramelo's farewell comes just a few months after another harsh blow for Cimarro: the passing of his mother, María Paz, in December 2025, following a long battle with Alzheimer's. At that time, the actor admitted he had "a broken heart" when sharing the news.

In recent years, Mario Cimarro has focused much of his life on his family alongside his partner, Slovak model Bronislava Gregušová, and their daughter Briana, born in 2022. In fact, at the beginning of this year, he shared a reflection on fatherhood that resonates even more today: "The greatest gift we can give is our time. A dad doesn't raise his child just by paying bills. He raises them by being present, by listening, by embracing."
