In the midst of the 2026 World Cup, the most charming moment off the field was not delivered by Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, but by their partners. Georgina Rodríguez sent a gift to Antonela Roccuzzo, and the wife of the Argentine captain quickly took to her Instagram stories to express her gratitude publicly.
Antonela posted a picture of an elegant pink box with the Mimoa logo —the new loungewear clothing brand by Georgina— and wrote: "Thank you so much @georginagio Everything is beautiful. I wish you all the success in the world." The post immediately went viral on social media and surprised the fans of both footballers.
The kit that Antonela received was quite a nice gesture: a black outfit, a pink water bottle, a tote bag, and a yoga mat. Not bad as a welcome to the brand.
Mimoa was officially launched on June 30, 2026, just days before the gesture. The first collection includes 27 pieces —leggings, tops, sports bras, joggers, and sweatshirts— in a palette ranging from burgundy to pink. Georgina had subtly introduced it at the Met Gala in May, but the formal launch arrived with a lot of fanfare.
The brand's proposal carries a clear message. "I created Mimoa out of the belief that a woman's body is not something that needs to be fixed. It is alive, it is enough, it is beautiful," Georgina stated while presenting the collection.
What makes the gesture particularly striking is the context: in the midst of competition, Georgina is supporting Portugal, while Antonela has accompanied Argentina in every match of the tournament. Two worlds that, in theory, are on opposite sides of the field.
But this is not new between them. In November 2020, Georgina congratulated Messi's oldest son, Thiago, for his birthday, and Antonela responded with hearts. In June of this year, Antonela reacted with heart emojis to a video of Alana Martina, Georgina's daughter, singing. The good rapport between the two has a history, and the 2026 World Cup gave them another opportunity to show it.
While fans of Messi and Cristiano argue on social media, they send each other gifts.
